Shaped as a square-topped pillar light, 144 x 144 x 190mm in ABS, the 0984A03-01 is a 3W solar LED unit that sits on a gatepost, wall cap or pier and lights the ground and wall around it.

Six 2835 LEDs at 6000K carry a rated 160 lm/W. The 6V 2W polycrystalline panel forms the top face of the lamp and charges a 3.7V 2Ah lithium-ion battery, quoted at 6 to 8 hours to fill. Discharging time is given as 12 to 15 hours, which in practice means a lamp with a clear view of the sky will normally still be lit in the early hours. It is worth remembering that a pillar top shaded by a tree or a roofline collects far less, and that the season shifts the figures as well.
