About this product
The Dayliff DDW 1000V is a centrifugal submersible drainage pump built for clearing water from flooded floors, excavations, sumps and ponds, and for small scale irrigation and water transfer. The V designation marks the vortex version, whose recessed impeller passes higher silt loads than the standard open impeller models, so it suits water carrying grit, leaves or fibrous matter rather than only lightly turbid water.
Casing, suction base and impeller are moulded in high strength engineering plastic, which resists corrosion and keeps the pump light enough for one person to lift and reposition. An external float switch gives automatic control as the level rises and falls, and each pump is supplied with 10 metres of waterproof cable and a union connected outlet that takes either a threaded or a hose connection. Driving it is an integral non-overloading induction motor rated for continuous operation, with a thermal cut-out in the winding and direct connection to mains supply through a 10A fuse or MCB.
Contractors use the DDW for site dewatering, while farms, homes and workshops fit it for emptying tanks and pools, circulating ponds and fountains, garden irrigation and standby flood control.
