About this product
Ordered with a float switch, the Dayliff DSD 3/10 covers the risk that ends most borehole pumps early: running dry. The float acts on water level and cuts the pump before the water falls below it, which protects the motor during dry spells and in boreholes with a slow recovery rate. The pump itself is a submersible multistage centrifugal unit for domestic and small scale supply from wells and boreholes.
The DSD range is built from polycarbonate impellers and diffusers, cast iron delivery and suction chambers, and stainless steel pump housing, shaft and shaft coupling, a specification that gives it useful sand handling in water that is never entirely clear. Its motor is a sealed, liquid cooled asynchronous squirrel cage type in stainless steel. Single phase pumps operate through a Dayliff SCM control box, which adds protection against overload, dry running and over or under voltage; three phase pumps require a remote DOL starter.
This combination suits households, farms and small institutions where the borehole yield varies through the year and nobody is on hand to watch the level.
