About this product
Boreholes that draw down during the dry season need a pump that knows when to stop. The Dayliff DSD 3/13 supplied with a float switch does exactly that, cutting the pump on falling water level so the motor is not left running dry. Underneath, it is a submersible multistage centrifugal pump from the DSD range, designed for domestic and small scale water supply from wells and boreholes.
Materials follow the DSD specification: polycarbonate impellers and diffusers, cast iron delivery and suction chambers, and stainless steel pump housing, shaft and shaft coupling. The polycarbonate impellers give the range its sand handling ability, an advantage in boreholes that carry a fine solids load. The pump is coupled to a sealed, liquid cooled asynchronous squirrel cage motor built from stainless steel. Single phase pumps should be operated through a Dayliff SCM control box for starting and for protection against overload, dry running and over or under voltage, while three phase pumps require a remote DOL starter, with a Dayliff SCT electronic pump controller recommended for comprehensive control.
Households, farms, schools and guest houses install this size where a tank has to be filled reliably and the borehole is left to work unattended.
