About this product

More stages mean more head, and the Dayliff DSD 3/18 is the tallest of the small bore DSD sets commonly used on domestic boreholes. Ordered here with a float switch, it stops automatically when the water level falls away from the float, which guards the motor against dry running in boreholes with a slow recovery. The pump is a submersible multistage centrifugal design for domestic and small scale water supply from wells and boreholes.

Its construction combines polycarbonate impellers and diffusers, cast iron delivery and suction chambers, and stainless steel pump housing, shaft and shaft coupling. Together these give good resistance to the abrasive sand that boreholes commonly carry. A sealed, liquid cooled asynchronous squirrel cage motor in stainless steel drives the pump. Single phase installations should use a Dayliff SCM control box, which provides starting along with overload, dry running and over or under voltage protection; three phase installations need a remote DOL starter and are best fitted with a Dayliff SCT electronic pump controller.

Deeper domestic boreholes, farm supplies, schools and guest houses are its usual settings.
