Dayliff Floatswitch Automatic Pump Level Control Switch

The Dayliff floatswitch is a level sensing control used to start and stop an electric water pump automatically as the level in a tank, sump or reservoir rises and falls. It hangs on its own cable from the pipework or tank wall and tilts with the water surface, making or breaking the pump circuit at the chosen points.

Installations that rely on it include roof and ground tank filling, sump emptying and borehole pump control, where it guards against running a pump dry and against overflowing a tank that is already full. Domestic, agricultural and light commercial pump sets all use switches of this kind.
