EMTOP 4 Piece Wood Chisel Set 6-25mm Cr-V EWCT0401

Hanging a door means cutting hinge recesses and a lock mortise, and no power tool does that as cleanly as a sharp chisel. The EMTOP EWCT0401 gives carpenters, joiners, shopfitters and DIY woodworkers the four widths that cover almost all of that work.

Blades are chrome vanadium steel, a grade that takes a keen edge on a stone and holds it through a day of paring. Widths are 6mm for narrow grooves and cleaning corners, 12mm for general paring, 19mm for hinge leaves and 25mm for wide recesses and levelling. Each chisel measures 140mm long, short enough for controlled one-handed work yet long enough to sight down when paring to a line. The handles use a distinctive shaped design that seats in the palm for hand pressure and takes a mallet blow when chopping deeper.

Suited to hinge and lock fitting, mortise and tenon joints, cleaning out router waste, trimming skirting and architrave, and general furniture making and repair.
