Welders who strike arcs all day need a helmet that darkens reliably and lets them see the puddle clearly in between. This EMTOP auto darkening helmet carries a 1/1/1/1 optical rating, the top classification for clarity, diffusion of light, variation in luminous transmittance and angle dependence, and shows the work through a 100 x 67mm viewing area.

Four arc sensors watch for the strike from different angles, which helps when welding out of position or in a corner where a single sensor can be shaded. The lens sits at DIN 3 in the light state and darkens across DIN 5-9 and 9-13, with stepless shade, sensitivity and delay control set inside the shell, delay running from 0.15 to 0.80 seconds. Grind mode is built in, so the helmet can stay on the head between dressing and welding. Power comes from a solar panel backed by two replaceable CR2032 lithium cells.

It is rated for TIG from 2 amps upward, which suits thin sheet work alongside MMA and MIG on structural steel, gates, tanks and plant repair.
