Running a clean bead of silicone depends as much on the gun as on the hand holding it. The EMTOP ECGN01091 is a 9 inch caulking gun for glaziers, tilers, plumbers, joiners and anyone sealing around baths, windows or worktops.

The barrel and handle are aluminium, giving a rigid frame that will not flex under pressure yet stays light through a day of sealing, and the body measures 230mm long with a 1.8mm wall thickness. A rotary function lets the cartridge be turned in the cradle so the nozzle can be aimed along an awkward joint without twisting the wrist. The 8.0mm smooth rod feeds evenly rather than in the steps of a ratchet rod, which helps keep the bead consistent, and the cradle takes cartridges of 55mm diameter.

Use it for sealing around sanitaryware, glazing and window frames, sealing roof and wall joints, applying construction adhesives, filling expansion gaps in tiling, and general sealing and bonding on site.
