Petrol trimmers are heavy, noisy and need mixing; for a compound, a garden or a small commercial ground, a 20V trimmer does the same work with none of that. This one cuts a 300mm swathe at 8200rpm using 1.6mm twisted line, which resists breaking against walls and kerbs better than plain round line.

An edging function turns the head so the line runs vertically, giving a clean line along a path or a driveway without a second tool. Two line spools are supplied along with five metres of line, so refilling mid-job is quick. The 2.0Ah battery pack and charger are included, and the same pack fits the other 20V tools in the range. Starting is instant: pull the trigger and cut, with no cord, no fuel and no fumes near the house.
