Small fixings do not need a drill driver. The ECSR0402 is a 4V cordless screwdriver for electricians on second fix, appliance and computer technicians, signwriters and anyone assembling furniture or fitting hardware where a full-size tool is clumsy.

Torque is rated at 4Nm with the spindle turning at 240rpm, which is the right pace for driving into softwood, plastic and pre-drilled holes without stripping the head. A 1/4 inch hex shank accepts standard insert bits, and an integrated work light throws onto the screw in a cabinet or under a desk. Ten 25mm chrome-vanadium bits and a holder are supplied along with a connector and a Micro-USB cable, so the tool charges from a phone charger, a power bank or a laptop rather than a dedicated station.

It handles socket and switch plates, trunking lids, door furniture, flat-pack assembly, appliance covers and repair work where a screw must be started and seated by feel.
