Poor light is the normal working condition in a riser, a ceiling void or an unlit switch room, so this 2000-count meter carries a backlit LCD. Press the light and the digits stay legible while both hands are busy holding probes on a terminal.

Range coverage is deliberately practical. DC voltage runs from 200mV to 600V, AC voltage sits on 200V and 600V, and direct current is measured on 20mA, 200mA and 10A. Resistance from 200 ohms to 20 megohms handles continuity buzzing, element checks and confirming that an earth path is genuinely connected. The case takes two AAA cells, supplied with the meter, and the whole instrument is light enough to live permanently in a pouch.
