Hanging doors and truing timber on site both come down to a good planer, and the EECR1051 has the power to do it in fewer passes. Carpenters, door fitters and joinery workshops are the intended users, along with anyone dressing rough sawn stock before it goes into a frame.

The 1050W motor turns at 16000rpm and cuts 82mm wide to a depth of 3mm, enough to take a swollen door edge down in one or two passes rather than a dozen. Both the base and the side cover are aluminium, which keeps the sole flat and the tool rigid where a pressed or plastic base would flex. A self-cooling belt system helps the drive run cooler under sustained load. A spare belt, a set of parallel guides, a depth guide and a set of spare carbon brushes are supplied.

It suits easing doors and windows, chamfering and rebating with the guides fitted, cleaning up formwork timber and shuttering, dressing joists and battens, and reducing frames to fit an existing opening.
