Sometimes the job just needs a saw that cuts pipe and rod without fuss. The EMTOP EHFE3001 is a straightforward 300mm (12 inch) hacksaw frame for hardware counters, household toolboxes, site kits and plumbers who want a spare on the van.

Construction is deliberately simple: an ABS plastic handle with a soft grip design keeps the tool light and comfortable, and there is no mechanism to seize or wear. A 300mm 24 TPI bi-metal blade in M2 and D6A steel comes fitted, a fine tooth pitch that suits thin-wall tube, conduit and sheet where a coarse blade would snag. The frame handles metal, plastic and wood, making it a general cutting tool rather than a specialist one.
