About this product
An impact drill, also called a percussion or hammer drill, adds a rapid hammering action to ordinary rotation. Switch the hammer on for brick, block and concrete; switch it off and the tool drills timber and steel like a standard drill.
That dual role is why it is so often the first drill bought. Electricians use it for fixing clips, boxes and trunking, and builders for anchor and plug holes. Fit a masonry bit when hammering, hold the drill straight in the hole and withdraw it regularly to clear the dust.
