Screwdrivers used around electrical equipment are built differently from workshop drivers: the shaft is sleeved in insulation right up to the tip and the handle is moulded to keep the hand well away from exposed metal.

Electricians and panel builders use them for terminating cables, fitting sockets and switches and working inside consumer units and control gear. The same driver is just as handy for general assembly. Check the sleeve for nicks, cuts or heat damage before each use and set aside any driver that is damaged.
