Measuring a room single-handed is the everyday argument for a laser distance meter, and this one covers 0.05m to 60m to within 2mm. Point the red beam at the far wall, press the button and the figure appears, without a second person holding the end of a tape or a ladder to reach a soffit.

Beyond straight distance, the unit calculates area and volume from successive readings, which turns a tiling, painting or concrete take-off into a few button presses instead of arithmetic on the back of a delivery note. An indirect height function derives the dimension you cannot physically reach. The 635nm laser stays visible indoors, the tool operates from -10°C to +50°C, and auto power off saves the alkaline battery supplied with it. A canvas bag is included for carrying it in a bag of drawings.
