About this product
Stillson-pattern pipe wrenches for plumbers, pipefitters and borehole crews, supplied in 12 in through 48 in. The serrated jaws bite harder as load is applied, which is what lets a round pipe be turned without a flat to grip.
Each body is cast in ductile iron, a material that tolerates the shock of a wrench slipping off a joint far better than grey iron. The mobile jaw is chrome molybdenum with an inactivate treatment, the finish is black and polished, and a solid rivet holds the assembly through repeated heavy loading.
Clamping capacity climbs with size: 42mm on the 12 in, 50mm on the 14 in, 60mm on the 18 in, 76mm on the 24 in and 110mm on the 48 in. Choose the smaller sizes for domestic galvanised and steel pipework, and the long handles for mains, borehole rising main and industrial line work. Set the jaw so a small gap remains at the back of the bite, as that is what allows the wrench to tighten onto the pipe as the handle is pulled.
