Hand pruning saw with a 300mm blade, sized for branch work, shrub clearing and general garden maintenance. Gardeners, landscapers and smallholders use a saw of this length where a lopper runs out of capacity but a bow saw is too unwieldy.

The blade is 65Mn spring steel with heat treated teeth at 7 teeth per inch, a coarse pitch that clears sawdust quickly instead of packing it into a green cut. Triple teeth, precision ground on three edges, slice fibres from several directions at once, so the saw pulls through wet wood with a light stroke.

Use it for thinning fruit trees, cutting back overgrown hedging, clearing storm debris and shaping ornamental planting. A clean, fast cut leaves a tidy wound that the tree can close over. Open the kerf with a light backstroke, then let the weight of the saw carry each stroke rather than pressing down into green wood. Undercut a heavy limb first so the bark does not tear as it falls.
