Larger diameters and deeper holes call for more energy per blow. At 5.5 joules the ERHRP1502 is the heavy SDS plus hammer in the range, intended for contractors setting large anchors, drilling starter bars and coring through thick concrete.

The 1500W motor turns at 850rpm with 4400 blows a minute and drills to 32mm in concrete, 13mm in steel and 40mm in wood. An anti-vibration system reduces what the operator absorbs on long runs of drilling, which is the difference between finishing a slab and stopping short. The SDS plus chuck keeps bit changes quick, and three drills and two chisels come with the tool, along with a set of spare carbon brushes, in a BMC case.

It is the hammer for through-holes in structural walls and slabs, large mechanical and chemical anchors, drilling for handrail and gate posts, opening service penetrations, and chipping out around them once the hole is made.
