Round pads suit curved and open surfaces, and the EFSR23201 is EMTOP's 320W rotary sander for that work. Furniture makers, decorators, panel repairers and general workshops use it where a rectangular sander would leave visible flat spots.

The 125mm pad turns at 12000rpm and takes standard hook and loop discs, so grits are changed in seconds without clamps or tabs and part-used discs can be kept and refitted. Five sanding papers come with the tool, enough to work through a first job, and a set of spare carbon brushes is supplied for later maintenance. The disc size is a common one, which keeps consumables easy to replace, and discs of several grits can be kept in the case ready for a change of material.

Use it on shaped and curved timber, table tops and worktops, stripping old paint and varnish before refinishing, feathering filler on bodywork and panels, and preparing metal and timber for primer or a first coat. Held lightly and kept moving, it leaves an even surface without the swirl a heavy hand produces.
