About this product
Rubber-headed hammer at 16oz (450g), used where a steel face would bruise or dent the work. Tilers, fitters, panel workers and assembly crews use a mallet of this weight to tap components home, seat joints and persuade parts into alignment.
The head is rubber with non-marring plastic faces, so it protects the workpiece surface while still delivering a firm blow, and it is non-spark in use. A fibreglass handle sits behind the head, damping the return shock and keeping the tool balanced through a long session of repetitive tapping.
Typical work includes bedding floor and wall tiles, closing timber joints, fitting hub caps and trim, tapping paving into a sand bed and knocking together flat-pack carcasses. It also has a place in sheet metal work where a dressing blow must not leave a mark. Move the work with several controlled taps rather than one heavy blow, because a rubber head returns much of the energy and can bounce a part out of position.
