Sawdust, plaster, broken glass and spilled water are all beyond an ordinary household vacuum, which is why a wet and dry machine belongs in a workshop, a garage or the boot of a service vehicle. This 12 litre model is the compact option, easy to carry between jobs.

Suction is produced by a 1000W copper wire motor developing 18KPa at an airflow of 1.9 cubic metres per minute, drawn into a metal tank rather than a plastic drum. A HEPA filter traps fine dust, which matters when cleaning up after cutting board, sanding or drilling masonry indoors.

The kit includes a 1.5 metre flexible hose, a three-part plastic tube, a plastic floor brush and a 2-in-1 brush for corners and upholstery, with a 2.3 metre cord. Both wet and dry pick-up are supported, so the same machine handles a dusty floor and a burst hose.
