MODI Bakelite 1 Gang 2 Way Plate Switch Surface Mount

Bakelite switches remain the default for a great deal of work in Kenya, from rental housing and shops to farm buildings and site accommodation, because they are inexpensive, robust and familiar to every electrician. The MD-HWD5001 is the single gang, two way switch in the MODI bakelite range, so it can be used on its own for a simple light point or paired with a second switch to control one light from two positions.

The moulded bakelite plate is a hard, heat-tolerant thermoset that stands up to knocks and to years of hands and fingers. Internally the switch uses selected copper parts chosen for conductivity and resistance to electrical corrosion, and the body is a one-piece moulding that holds its shape rather than loosening over time. Wiring is internal, which makes for a faster termination and a plate that closes down properly against an uneven wall.

Use it for corridors and staircases where two way switching is needed, and for general lighting circuits in houses, rental units, shops, stores and outbuildings. Packed 100 pieces per carton for contractors buying by the box.
