How to choose a solar panel
- Cost per watt: compare the price per watt, not the price per panel. Our panel price guide sets all four sizes side by side.
- Match the inverter: keep each string's open-circuit voltage inside the inverter or controller's input limit, allowing for a cold morning.
- Mounting: these are big modules. Use rails or a ground frame rated for the wind on site, fix to the frame only, and leave a gap for air behind the panel. The larger sizes are a two-person lift.
- Shade and dust: one shaded or dirty panel pulls down the whole string, so plan for cleaning access.
