Knicker Screwdriver, Hammer Head (Star & Flat)

Knicker hammer-head screwdrivers in 4", 6" and 8", star and flat, sold wholesale by the carton of 240 in Kenya by AHIHQ Traders, Nairobi. The blade runs through the handle to a metal cap at the end, so this screwdriver is made for heavier work than an ordinary one.

Sizes and packing

Specification

As stated in the maker's catalogue:

• Chrome vanadium
• Chrome-plated steel
• Magnetic tips

When to choose a hammer-head screwdriver

Because the steel runs through to the cap, the end can take a tap from a hammer to break a rusted or painted-over screw free before you turn it. Mechanics, fundis and fabricators reach for this type on old timber, gates and machinery, and the magnetic tip listed above holds the screw while you start it.

Each length is listed in star and flat. For lighter everyday work, the 2-in-1 screwdriver puts both tips in one tool.
