About this product
MODI's Galaxy, model MD-HWSA6301, is a vertical single cold water tap rather than a mixer. That makes it the straightforward choice for sinks and basins fed from one supply, where a second inlet would simply be capped off.
Both the main body and the handwheel are cast in zinc alloy. Inside is a copper slow-opening spool, the type that takes a turn or two of the handwheel to open fully rather than snapping on, which reduces the hammer that hits pipework when a fast quarter-turn valve is shut. The tap is supplied with a 310mm inlet pipe of 18mm diameter, so the connection down to the stop tap is already accounted for.
It is used on kitchen sinks, utility sinks, bathroom basins, outdoor and yard taps, and in rental units, hostels and school washrooms where a simple, serviceable fitting is worth more than a complicated one. Cartons hold 10 pieces.
