Choosing a width

2" and 3" brushes suit doors, window frames, grilles and furniture. 4" covers fascia boards, gates and wider panels, and 5" and 6" lay paint quickly on walls, ceilings and fences, or apply primer over large areas. The #273 starts at 2"; for fine trim and cutting in, the Knicker #510 also comes in 1" and 1.5".

Clean the brush straight after use: water for water-based emulsion, and thinner for oil-based gloss and varnish.
