Buying structural silicone

  • Neutral cure is the norm for glazing and aluminium, because it does not attack metals or coatings.
  • 590 ml sausages need a sausage-type sealant gun; they work out cheaper per millilitre than cartridges on big jobs.
  • Joint size: a 590 ml pack runs roughly 16 metres of a 6 x 6 mm bead, or about 6 metres of a 10 x 10 mm bead.
