0388E100-01 Solar Home System for Off-Grid Use

A solar home system kit for off-grid homes and small businesses in Kenya, model 0388E100-01, sold from our Nairobi trade counter.

Largest in the 0388 series, this solar home system is bought where a household or a small business has several points to light and devices to keep charged through the evening. Everything is supplied together as a kit, which suits buyers a long way from a technical dealer.

Rural homes, trading shops, farm buildings and community rooms are the usual applications. Because the manufacturer has not released a full specification for this model, we are not quoting figures. Contact us and we will confirm the supplier's own details before you commit to an order.

How a solar home system works

The panel charges the battery during the day, and the battery runs your lights and small loads after dark. What the panel collects in a day is roughly what you have that night, so a sunny spot matters more than anything else. Because the kit comes complete, there are no separate parts to match.

Choosing between sizes in the series

The 0388 series has three units: the 0388A20-01 entry model, the 0388C60-01 in the middle and the 0388E100-01 at the top. This is the largest of the three. Pick the smallest unit that covers what you light and charge each night. Too small runs flat early; far too big costs more than it needs to.

Before you buy

• List what you want to run each evening: how many lights, which phones, a radio or a TV.
• Ask us for the supplier's battery, panel and output figures for this exact model code and check they cover that list.
• Put the panel in full sun. Shade from a roof, tree or wall cuts its charge, and a cloudy day means less light that night.
