60W Solar Street Light Aluminium Bridgelux LED

An aluminium-bodied alternative to the plastic all-in-one lights, this 60W solar street light uses Bridgelux LEDs and is aimed at buyers specifying for a longer service life: contractors, property managers and institutions doing a proper installation rather than a quick fix.

The lamp carries 108 Bridgelux 5730 LEDs at 6000K to 6500K, rated at 160 lm/W. A 10V 16W polycrystalline panel charges a LiFePO4 6.4V 12Ah battery, and the manufacturer quotes 6 to 8 hours of charging with 20 to 24 hours of discharge, which leaves useful margin after a day of cloud. Running the pack at 6.4V rather than 3.2V is the difference from the ABS series and is worth noting when comparing amp-hour figures between the two. The aluminium casing measures 501 x 220 x 118mm and sheds heat better than a moulded shell, which is what protects LED output over the years.

Design height is 4 to 6 metres, suiting gates, staff housing, walkways, shop frontages and small yards. Solar performance depends on siting and season, so keep the panel unshaded. The manufacturer states a 3 year warranty.
