MODI Bakelite Universal Socket with USB and Type C MD-KJM018

Charging bricks tie up sockets that should be doing other work. The MD-KJM018 puts USB and Type C ports on the plate itself, alongside a switched multi-function outlet and a neon indicator. It comes from the MD-HWD5014 series in MODI's Bakelite range.

The mains outlet is universal, so square-pin and round-pin plugs both seat properly, and the switch controls it independently. Copper internal parts are used through the current path, one-piece moulded for grip and specified by MODI for corrosion resistance. Internal wiring terminals make the connection at the back box straightforward, and the panel is high quality PC, self-extinguishing and flame retardant.

The obvious positions are bedside, at a study desk, in hotel and hostel rooms, and on reception counters where staff and visitors charge phones through the day. Fitting one during first fix is far cheaper than the trailing adaptors that appear otherwise. Supplied 100 pieces per carton.
