About this product
PL 200, Henkel article 1797914, is the one in this family that both seals and bonds. It is a silane-curing FlexTec polymer — isocyanate-free and solvent-free, curing on moisture — and it is transparent when cured. That chemistry is the reason it is the only one of the three you can put on a mirror, on glass, on UPVC, or onto a wet surface and even under water.
Use it where the joint has to move or weather: glass and mirror fixing, for which Henkel cites DIN EN 1036-1, metal and UPVC trim, exterior work, wet areas, and any bond between two materials that will expand at different rates. It bridges gaps to 20 mm, twice what PL 100 and PL 150 manage, and it is over-paintable and sandable once cured. Henkel rates it to hold up to 50 kg/m² inside and outside buildings.
Sold by the full carton of 12. It is worth being clear about what the higher price buys, because it is not raw strength: PL 200's final strength is about 3.0 N/mm² against up to 6 N/mm² for PL 100 and PL 150, and its initial grab is 50 kg/m² against PL 100's 180. What it buys is flexibility, a neutral cure, mirror and glass safety, wet and underwater application, exterior durability, a 20 mm gap and a sealant function. For interior skirting onto plaster, PL 100 is the correct answer and the cheaper one. Do not use PL 200 on polyethylene, polypropylene, PTFE, acrylic glass, plasticised PVC, copper or brass.
