About this product
Top of the all-in-one STS range, the STS50248 combines a 5000W pure sine wave inverter, an MPPT solar charger and a mains charger for use with a 48V battery bank. It is the unit installers reach for on farms, larger homes and commercial premises where pumps and refrigeration have to keep running through outages.
Peak power is 10000VA against the 5000W rating, with a stated load motor capability of 4HP. Output is 230V AC, pure sine wave, held within 0.3Hz of 50Hz or 60Hz, and AC-mode efficiency is quoted above 95%. Battery input is 48V with a 44V minimum starting voltage. Charging is the practical differentiator here: the MPPT input takes up to 4400W of PV array, while mains charging runs at up to 80A, so a 48V bank can be recovered from sun, utility or generator.
PV open-circuit voltage must remain below 145V DC, with MPPT tracking from 60 to 115V DC and a PV operating range of 60 to 145V DC. Two mains input windows are specified: 170 to 280V AC within 2% in UPS mains mode, and a wider 90 to 280V AC within 2% in APL generator mode, which matters on sites running an unstable generator. The enclosure measures 426 x 322 x 124mm.
