Four finish families

• M1: flat PC plates in white, gold, grey and black. The widest range, from a 1 gang switch to a hotel key-card switch. Start with the M1 13A switched socket and the M1 1 gang 2 way switch.
• M2: white, gold and grey, where the gold is a warm champagne tone rather than bright metallic. See the M2 single 13A switched socket.
• B1 Glossy: glossy plates for rooms where the fittings will be seen, such as living rooms, hotel suites and receptions. See the B1 Glossy 13A switched socket.
• Bakelite: the plain, low-cost range for rental units, hostels and large schedules. See the Bakelite double 13A switched socket.

The switches and sockets in all four families are listed with a self-extinguishing, flame-retardant PC panel, selected copper contacts and internal wiring terminals.

Specifying a whole fit-out in one finish

Pick one family and one colour, and order every point from it so the plates match. M1 and M2 each cover 1 to 4 gang 2 way switches, bell push, single and double 13A switched sockets, universal sockets, USB and Type-C sockets, 25A outlets, 45A switches and cooker units, and TV, satellite, data and telephone outlets, with 3x3 and 3x6 blank plates to close spare boxes. Not every item comes in every colour, so check each product's options. You can also keep white in service rooms and use gold, grey or glossy in the living spaces.

Socket types in stock

• 13A switched, single and double: the bulk item on most jobs, in all four families.
• Universal (multifunction) switched sockets: for imported plugs, for example the M1 universal socket.
• USB and Type-C: charging sockets such as the M1 double socket with USB and Type-C.
• 25A outlet points: for showers, water heaters and fixed appliances, such as the M1 25A outlet.
• 45A cooker control units with 13A socket: for example the M1 45A cooker control unit.
• Also: 20A water heater switches, dimmers, fan speed controllers, shaver sockets and brushed-gold floor sockets.

Carton pricing

Each product page shows a piece price and a carton price. Carton quantities vary by item: the 13A switched sockets and 1 gang switches are 100 to a carton, the Bakelite double socket 50, and every product page states its own. Questions

What plate sizes do MODI switches come in?

MODI blank plates come in 3x3 and 3x6 sizes in both M1 and M2, and some items, such as the M1 45A switch and the Bakelite 4 and 6 gang switches, come on a 3x6 plate. Check the plate size on each product page against your boxes.

Which outlet do I need for a water heater or a cooker?

A 25A outlet point or a 20A water heater switch for showers and water heaters, and a 45A cooker control unit for a cooker. Have a qualified electrician size the circuit.

Can I buy one switch, or only cartons?
